As the world marvels over the fact that Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle are getting married. Some historians say that they are a little to late with their wedding announcements of "Black" royalty in the British monarchy.
Because, on, Sept. 8, 1761, Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg, who, according to historian Mario De Valdes, who was a researcher in the 1996 FRONTLINE PBS documentary "Secret Daughter" said that she was directly descended from a Black branch of the Portuguese royal family: Alfonso III and his "alleged" concubine, Ouruana, a "Black" Moor. married King George III and bore him 15 children.
While the rumors of a Black Queen of "mixed-raced royalty" have been denied and outright hidden from the general public for years, surprisingly, in 1999, the London Sunday Times CONFIRMED IT when they published an article with the headline: “REVEALED: THE QUEEN’S BLACK ANCESTORS. which read .."An American genealogist has established that Queen Charlotte, the wife of George III, was directly descended from the illegitimate son of an African mistress in the Portuguese royal house.”
Along with Valdes & Rodgers research, there is a "NEW" book entitled Invisible Queen: Mixed Ancestry Revealed Queen Sophia Charlotte (Queen of Britain and Ireland (1761-1818) by Dr. Stephanie Myers, which tells the story of Charlotte Sophia, a smart mixed race German girl ,who was recruited to marry George III, King of England that reigned as Queen of England and Ireland, for 57 years with Moorish/Black Heritage, who actively opposed the Atlantic Slave Trade.
