THOUGHTFUL TUESDAY: THE RIDDLE OF LIFE by e.graham
We must always remember the Church is supposed to be a place
where knowledge is given, WISDOM can be obtained and understanding, hopefully,
grasped.
With that said, within the ancient mystery school, according
to certain legends, there was a riddle, which had to be answered, before one
could advance to a higher degree. The question was: “What starts off on four,
develops on two; and ends on three, which is known as the wisdom of the 4,2,3.
As you ponder that, remember riddles mean “something
twisted, bent, or tied in a knot,” which must be untied. Or, a dark saying (Ps
49:4,) that must be interpreted; a hard question (I Kin 10:1,) which must be
answered, a sinister scheme (Dan 8:23)-that must be solved. A riddle, in
essence, is nothing more than a parable, used frequently by Christ, which must
be understood or an allegory that must be deciphered. (Gal 4:24)
For this reason, the biblical character King Solomon of
Israel, who reigned for 40 years, was known as a man of wisdom ( 1 Kings
3:7-15,) traditionally, believed to be
the author of the Book of Ecclesiastes, where he tries to teach his people
about this thing called “LIFE” by describing our potential aging process if we
are blessed to live long enough.
It states in Ecclesiastes (12:1) “Remember now your Creator,
in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come….
This passage, unfortunately, suggests that our youth does
not last, it too passes like a VAPOR, a breath of air, which Job 7:7 states: “REMEMBER
THAT MY LIFE IS BUT A BREATH OR VAPOR.”
We witnessed this recently with the passing of our “beloved
brother” Hip-Hop pioneer-Biz Markie, who was only 57 years old, when he passed, who released the
song VAPORS in
1988.
His premature demise confirms James 4:13-14, which states: “Come
now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a
year there, carry on business, and make a profit. (But) you do not even know what will happen
tomorrow!
What is your life? You are a MIST/VAPOR that appears for a
little while and then vanishes.”
YES, ALL OF US must face DEATH, as Hebrews 9:27 implies: And as it is
appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.
With that understood, KING SOLOMON give us a poetic
description of the aging process in Ecc:(12:1-5,) which states:
When you get old, the
light from the sun, moon, and stars will grow dark; the rain clouds will never seem to go away.
At that time your arms will shake and your legs will become weak. Your teeth
will fall out so you cannot chew, and your eyes will not see clearly.
Your ears will be deaf to the noise in the streets, and you
will barely hear the millstone grinding grain. You’ll wake up when a bird
starts singing, but you will barely
hear singing. You will fear high places and will be afraid to go for a walk.
Your hair will become white like the flowers on an almond tree. You will limp
along like a grasshopper when you walk. Your(sexual) appetite will be gone.
Then you will go to your everlasting home, and people will
go to your funeral.
WITH THAT SAID, we again, address the “RIDDLES OF LIFE” which, as stated before SOLOMON, a man of wisdom, was fond of. So, the question is-What does the following passages mean? in ECC: 12:6-14
“Soon your life will snap like a SILVER CORD or break like a
GOLDEN BOWL. You will be like a BROKEN PITCHER AT A SPRING or a BROKEN WHEEL AT
A WELL….
Remember, Colossians 1:26 states: Even the MYSTERY which
hath been hidden from ages and from generations, will be made manifest to his
SAINTS:
Now, let me explain some of the mysteries of SOLOMON, which
many viewed as four images of one slowly dying:
1. The SILVER CORD, by some ancient teachers or mystics,
referred to the spinal cord, which is composed of 33 vertebrae, which during old age may become
weak, causing one to bend over when walking. THE SILVER CORD also is known and
seen as the spiritual umbilical cord, which connects one’s physical body to his
spiritual body (1 Cor 15:44,) which appears on the top of the head, which
eventually is cut off and allows you to return to your CREATOR. (As above; so
below)
This is why the so-called Jews wear a (skullcap or
yarmulke,) the Muslims wear a round kufi, and the Pope, in the Catholic
tradition, wears a zucchetto, a
hemispherical skullcap to protect it, which is known as the GOLDEN BOWL or THE
BRAIN that is, unfortunately, broken in old age within the scripture.
2. This GOLDEN BOWL, for this reason, represents the
fontanels, the two major soft spots on the top of the newborn infant's head or
skull where bone formation isn't complete. This allows the skull to be molded
during birth. The smaller spot at the back usually closes by age 2 to 3 months.
(This has an astrological meaning as well and must be protected. This golden
bowl also appears and follows a pattern of receding hairline and hair
thinning on the CROWN on the top of the head as a tiny hole, which can also be a sign of aging.
4. AND THE WHEEL BROKEN AT THE WELL, represents the system of
veins and arteries, radiating from the heart, which the “ancients of days”
liken to the spokes on the wheels, which represented the True Tree of Life….
(Triplefold meaning)
With that breakdown, the question remains, what begins on
four, grows to two, and ends on three? Cause, this is the RIDDLE OF LIFE….
Because....(one) shall the dust return to the earth as it
was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave
it.(bobbeethehater.blogspot.com)
