For the second year in a row, the Aggies of North Carolina A&T, are sending a player to the NFL. Last year, it was the all-time MEAC rusher, running back Tarik Cohen, who was drafted by the Chicago Bears. This year, however, it was, Cohen's former teammate, 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive tackle, Brandon Parker from Kannapolis, NC, a key component in the Aggies undefeated HBCU National Championship season, who was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 2nd Round as the 65th overall pick.
Parker, who was the MEAC's Offensive Lineman of the Year and a first-team all-conference member for three straight seasons, which earned him an AP FCS first-team All-American honors during his senior season, comes from a family of exceptional athletes, which includes: a father, who was an all-ACC offensive lineman for the North Carolina Tar Heels in the early 1990s, a mother, who was a high school basketball superstar and a walk-on at UNC, and a sister, Jasmine, who played basketball for A&T.
