BOBBEE BEE: MARCH MADNESS-IS THE GAME RIGGED?

IS THE GAME RIGGED?-by Eric D. Graham (BASN)

Did Gov. Roy Cooper's signature to approve a compromising bill that repeals House Bill 2, which blocks local jurisdictions from passing protections for gay and transgender people, requiring them to use bathrooms in government facilities that matches the sex on their birth certificate, improve UNC's chances to win the National Championship on Monday Night against Gonzaga in the eyes of the "bookies" in Vegas?

Let's not be naïve, ladies and gentlemen. Why? Because, the NCAA, not surprisingly, set a deadline last Thursday right before the Final Four for the state of North Carolina to change the year-old state law or be excluded from consideration for hosting postseason games through 2022.

With that said, let's not forget, the controversial "bathroom bill, will cost the state of NC at least $3.76 billion over the next 12 years" if it is not repealed and changed.

The largest loss so far, according to the Associated Place, have come from Paypal, who backed out of a $2.66 billion deal to expand a center in Charlotte, which would have created more than 400 jobs as well as Deutsche Bank, who canceled plans for a half a billion dollar deal in Cary, NC.

Plus, we already know about the $100 million dollars lost from the NBA All-Star Game being moved out of the Queen City in February.

Now, I know, you are probably saying-this is a crazy-ass conspiracy theory NOT worthy to be discussed or pondered.

However, remember this, March Madness generates over $900 million for the NCAA, which is 90% of its annual revenue.

See, money talks and bullshit walks.

So here's, another little side-bar, for you basketball junkies. In 2010, the NCAA signed a 14-year, $10.8 billion contract with CBS Sports and Turner Broadcasting, which will be paid over a 14-year period.

Despite all of this, college athletes still aren't getting paid for all of those buzzer beaters and high-flying dunks. (Yes, it's still a system of pimps and hoes)

Therefore, on Monday night, watch the game with a critical eye. Especially, if it's close. I know, we are dealing with college students-so as a coach-you can never really know-if they are going to perform any given night-

But, watch for all those missed free throws to meet the point spread (UNC 77 Oregon 76) and then-and only then-maybe the best team will win-in the end.-BLACK ATHLETE SPORTS NETWORK-
