MOTHERHOOD IS....
...a sudden grown-up feeling at the first pulse of life within you.
...a surge of joy and tenderness at a baby's first cry.
...an aching back after housework is done, formulas made, and baby is bathed and fed.
...watching her grow, thrilling at her first smile, her first word, her first step alone.
...caring for her through long sleepless nights of pain.
...teaching her how to walk and talk, and telling her about God and His wonders.
...parting with her when she starts to school.
...mending torn clothing, and buying new shoes for feet that grow too fast.
...taking her to the dentist.
...staying at her bedside and being there when she wakes up from her operation.
...sharing enthusiasm over her efforts to achieve, and having pride in her success.
...being tolerant of her adolescent traits; being kind to her friends.
...helping her choose her graduation dress.
...praying with an aching heart when she's gone overseas.
...feeling joy and thankfulness at her safe return.
...sharing excitement and happiness at her "potential" wedding.
...relaxing in contentment-now that you're Grandma.
All this, and more, is Motherhood.
