
Many kids and teens every year are abducted due to exposure on the Internet. Almost every teenager goes online thinking that this will never happen to them because they won’t meet anybody in a chat room. Internet predators have a way of appearing to be somebody that they are not. You may think you have proof that you are talking to somebody that is your age and is your friend when you may really be talking to somebody else. Kids don’t know what could really happen by just putting their name out there. Parents are giving kids false expectations to keep them from being scared. can’t hide behind a screen name. Even if they can’t see you, they can still find you. You may be revealing everything you think you’re not, just by saying “Hi”. Your screen name may be revealing. Your profile may be too. The Internet predators have ways of tricking kids into revealing personal information without it being obvious.
